Founder and CEO of Modelware.
Dr. Maged Elaasar is the Founder and CEO of Modelware, a US-based software company redefining how complex systems are engineered through ontological modeling and analysis.
With over 25 years spanning industry, government, and academia, Dr. Elaasar brings rare depth to the MBSE space. He has led large-scale model-centric engineering initiatives in aerospace and defense, most notably the Integrated Model Centric Engineering (IMCE) program at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a strategic initiative to make systems engineering more rigorous, agile, and data-driven across JPL's robotic space missions. He is also a lecturer at UCLA and Northeastern University, and previously spent 13 years at IBM leading R&D on flagship modeling tools, accumulating 12 US patents and the distinction of IBM Master Inventor.
Dr. Elaasar is the lead developer of openCAESAR, the open-source MBSE platform trusted by aerospace and defense programs, and has shaped international engineering standards at the OMG as UML co-chair and SysML contributor. He has authored over 85 peer-reviewed papers and serves as President of the INCOSE MENA Chapter and Chair of the onto:Nexus Forum, the premier venue for ontological modeling and analysis.
At Modelware, Dr. Elaasar is translating decades of foundational research and mission-critical engineering experience into commercial software, bringing the rigor of aerospace-grade MBSE to organizations building the next generation of complex systems.
