Modelware founder and CEO, Dr. Maged Elaasar, will deliver the tutorial OML Code: Turning SME Knowledge into Reusable Ontological Modeling Methodologies at MODELS 2026, the 29th International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems, held October 4 to 9, 2026 in Málaga, Spain. Tutorials run as part of the satellite events, October 4 to 6.

The hardest thing to scale in engineering is not tooling, it is judgment. The methodology a subject matter expert carries in their head, what a good model looks like, which rules must hold, how the pieces connect, usually stays with that expert. The tutorial is about writing it down in a form a machine can act on.

Participants will see how OML Code lets an expert codify a methodology as declarative, executable knowledge: formal ontologies that define the concepts and rules of a discipline, automated reasoning that checks models against them continuously, and a methodology that can then be reused across teams and projects rather than re-explained.
