How to leverage generative AI with ontologies and the standard semantic web stack to build an effective systems engineering methodology.
Generative AI can draft requirements, propose architectures, and answer questions about a system in seconds. What it cannot do on its own is guarantee that its output follows the engineering method. That guarantee comes from formal semantics: ontologies that define a domain, and the standard semantic web stack to validate, reason over, and query what is built with them.
None of this is new or experimental. The semantic web stack has matured over 25 years as a family of W3C standards, with proven tooling and production use in industry and government. Grounding generative AI in it means building on a foundation that has already stood the test of time.
This one-day forum brings practitioners and researchers together on putting the two to work side by side. It is the third onto:Nexus Forum, following the 2024 and 2025 forums at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.
Tentative program, Pacific Time. Speakers will be announced here.
Nothing. Admission is free, and registration is required so we can plan seating.
No. The forum is a separate event, open to anyone with an interest in the topic. It is held the day after INCOSE IW 2027 so attendees can stay in Los Angeles one more day.
The building, room, and parking details will be sent to registered attendees and posted on this page.
We welcome proposals for talks. When you register, add a title and a few sentences on what you would present.
